General QuestionsWhat are specialist visits? Rather than visiting a lab location, we’ll send a certified specialist to you—at home, at your office, or wherever is most convenient. What does “early access” mean?Specialist visits are currently available in select cities as we work to expand access nationwide. Members who live in or near these cities will be the first to try it, and their feedback will directly shape how specialist visits are brought to everyone else. What is Getlabs? Getlabs is now a part of Function, and handles all specialist visits. You’ll receive reminder texts from them when a specialist is on the way. Who is the specialist? Is this a Function employee or a third-party? The specialist who conducts your visit is a certified phlebotomist employed by Getlabs, a company Function recently acquired to offer specialist visits. Getlabs operates a nationwide network of licensed phlebotomists trained to conduct blood draws in non-clinical settings. They are Function employees, and every phlebotomist meets the same certification and quality standards required for our lab partners to process your results.Day of AppointmentWhat is the 2-hour arrival window? Our specialists make multiple visits each day, and we schedule within a 2-hour window to account for variability, delays, and travel time. You’ll need to be available and at your scheduled location for the entire 2-hour window, and you’ll receive text updates when a specialist is on their way. Can I track the location of the specialist? Real-time tracking is not available at this time. However, you’ll be notified when a specialist is 2 stops away,1 stop away, and on their way to your address. What do I need to do to prepare? Preparation steps for a specialist visit are the same as for a standard lab visit, except that you’ll need to be at your scheduled address for the full 2-hour window. When scheduling, you’ll also be asked to provide any entry instructions the specialist might need, like a buzzer number, gate code, or parking information. What if the specialist is late? Our team of specialists has a 91% on-time arrival rate. If a specialist is running more than 15 minutes behind (outside your window), they'll call you directly. If you're nearing the end of your window and haven't heard anything, contact our support team.
